Brown or Green Pressure Treated
For great functionality that won’t break your budget, consider pressure-treated lumber decking!
An economical decking choice, pressure-treated lumber is gaining strength in today’s building market.
The brown treated lumber starts as a dark brown and beautifully fades to a lighter, more natural wood color over time. Green pressure-treated lumber will fade to a more gray color over time. Pressure-treated lumber provides long-term protection against fungus, insects, and decay.
Although pressure-treated wood is weather resistant and durable, it should be treated with an oil-based stain 30 to 90 days after installation (once the wood is dry), and then every 2 to 3 years after to prevent the deck from deteriorating and experiencing more significant color change over the years.
